The vanilla HawsEDC tools install assuming you have no other AutoCAD customization. ACAD.PGP, ACAD.LSP, and ACADDOC.LSP are all installed into the HawsEDC folder, and the HawsEDC folder is placed at the top of the AutoCAD Support Files Search Path. If you have other AutoCAD customization or if you wish to customize HawsEDC, you may want to delete one or all those files from the HawsEDC folder or place other folders above the HawsEDC folder in the AutoCAD Support Files Search Path.
If you already have your own ACAD.LSP and ACADDOC.LSP files, delete the ACAD.LSP and ACADDOC.LSP files from HawsEDC. The main HawsEDC functionality doesn't depend on them.
If you already have your own custom ACAD.PGP file, you will probably want to create a folder for your team or yourself, place it above the HawsEDC folder in AutoCAD's Support Files Search Path, and put your custom ACAD.PGP file there so it will load instead of the HawsEDC vanilla ACAD.PGP.
You can make the HawsEDC tools follow your layer name, color, and linetype standards by 1) editing the LAYERS.DAT file found in the HawsEDC folder and 2) editing any blocks as needed. If you edit the LAYERS.DAT file, you will probably want to protect it from later being overwritten. You can do this by creating a folder for your team or yourself, placing it above the HawsEDC folder in AutoCAD's Support Files Search Path, and putting your custom LAYERS.DAT file there so it will load instead of the HawsEDC vanilla LAYERS.DAT
Several of the HawsEDC tools use blocks. You can of course edit the blocks to suit your needs. If you edit any blocks, you will probably want to protect them from later being overwritten. You can do this by creating a folder for your team or yourself, placing it above the HawsEDC folder in AutoCAD's Support Files Search Path, and putting your custom blocks there so they will load instead of the HawsEDC vanilla blocks
The HawsEDC Bubble Notes Manager has special options you can learn to customize. Some of the tools including SETUP and DIMSTY are open source so you can customize them.
